During 2022, the adoption that Bitcoin has had around the world has been quite remarkable. One of its most recent use cases was during the sale of a real estate; exactly, we are referring to a house that was sold for a total of 3 BTC in Portugal.
Certainly, every day the purchase / sale of digital assets increases, as well as their utilities to acquire different physical goods; even pay or buy services. However, it was only on May 5, that a real estate company reported about a house sale exclusively in Bitcoin.
The adoption of cryptocurrencies continues
In the house purchase agreement, the real estate explained that the payment will not be the equivalent in euros, but it must be 3 BTC exactly; this is equivalent to a little more than 98 thousand euros; although during the negotiation, on May 5, it was about 110 thousand euros.
It should be noted that during the signing of the deed of the house that was sold for 3 BTC, a number of witnesses were present; both representatives of the Zome real estate, as well as other characters, either Notaries, partners, or others.
One of them talked about how it all started, mentioning that the real estate company was doing an advertising campaign on Facebook; the post explains that the company is “in the front line” in everything related to the adoption of cryptocurrencies and Web 3.0.
And in addition to this, they also commented that this is a new historical milestone for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, pointing out exactly:
This scripture represents a historical moment. It is about the transfer of a digital asset to a physical asset. We’re talking about a house! There will be no conversions to euros. We believe, that today a new world of possible business in the real estate sector opens up.
Bitcoin operations generate opportunities for value growth
Also, the director of technology of the real estate company Zome, known as Carlos Santos, explained that this new type of agreements in Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies, can only provide new opportunities for companies.
Not to mention, that according to the lawyer of Antas da Cunha Ecija, named Nuno da Silva Vieira, these types of operations are a great opportunity for growth and value creation.
In addition to this, from the company’s blog, it is explained that the real estate company Zome is working on creating new initiatives related to Web 3.0; same, which will be presented to the public earlier than thought.
Order of Notaries of Portugal develops new guidelines for the purchase of goods with cryptocurrencies
It should be noted that it was only recently that this type of transactions became possible. Since, the Order of Notaries of Portugal had a policy that prevented real estate transactions directly in cryptocurrencies.
That is, if a person wanted to buy real estate with cryptocurrencies, he had to sell his tokens for euros, and then execute the transaction through a bank.
And it was during the past month, that said entity made an alteration in the purchase / sale policies; the highlight of the change is that now real estate transactions can be carried out completely with Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies; without the need for there to be a transformation to euros.
